Today I'm Wearing

I’m not very good at handling the cold so you’ll often find me wrapped up in Winter with a bobble hat, scarf gloves & my trusty Uggs. While I love all of those things I’ve been keen to mix it up a little with my keep warm accessories so today I thought I’d bring you some of my new Winter staples.

These ear muffs were a fantastic spot by my Mum. One moment I’m showing her the ones I’d been admiring in Kurt Geiger, which I couldn’t quite bring myself to splurge £80 on, when she suddenly tells me she’d seen the exact same ones in Primark & low & behold she was right & with a saving of £77!!  Ok I know these may not be to everyone’s taste, but I wouldn’t be without them and they’re great for when I have my hair up too.

The woollen blue scarf from Cos was a Christmas treat to myself. I absolutely adore this scarf & it’s my most worn Winter staple. The colour is beautiful, it just makes a black outfit pop & brightens up even the most dreary of Winter days while keeping me stylish & warm.

These tan boots are amazing!! I’ve been searching for the right tan boots for the last year & then I found these on Dolcis (I remember shopping in Dolcis as a teenager). Oh my, what’s not to love about these boots? I love the metal panel heel detail & the sturdy heels mean I can walk around all day in them including when I’m doing my power walk to the station in the morning. They fit my size 3 feet like a glove, so no sliding around leading to sore feet & they are so comfy!

What are your Winter staples?

Today I'm Wearing

This lovely cape from Zara caught my eye when I was in Paris before Christmas. I loved everything about it but I ummed & ahhed about buying it as I’d spent a small fortune in Paris on makeup & French pharmaceuticals. However the cape was meant to be as I found it reduced in the January sales in London & I didn’t hesitate for a second! I bagged this beautiful cape & a bargain too!! The amazing camera bag is from Accessorize & was an awesome Secret Santa gift from my gorgeous friend Charlotte. Oh how I love that bag! I love it’s quirkiness & I’ve received so many comments & compliments on it, the waiters in Hot Pink Grill in Wimbledon especially loved it!! This is a bit of a photo heavy post from me but I just really love this look with the cape & camera bag.

I have wanted a Winter cape for quite a while so I couldn’t believe my luck when I spied this in the sale. I have to admit I wouldn’t wear it out in the snow as it’s quite open & only does up under the chin but it’s fine for a normal Winter day as it’s made of thick wool & you can layer up underneath. I think it would go perfectly with a chunky oversized roll neck jumper & jeans.

The jumper dress was a H&M sale purchase & another fabulous bargain. The dress is perfectly cosy & keeps me lovely & warm. It’s easy to dress it up with boots & jewellery so a great Winter staple to have in my wardrobe.

This necklace is very precious to me as my lovely 8 year old niece picked it out & gave it to me as a gift for my last birthday. She was so excited to show me it’s a watch inside & I absolutely love it! As my niece & nephew live in Germany & I don’t get to see them very often, the necklace holds a lot of extra sentimental value to me.

Today I'm Wearing

I am by no means a fashionista, this much you probably know, but I’ve just been enjoying playing around with my look, experimenting a little like with this denim dress with the buttoned up look & just having more fun with my clothes. On the weekend I did a little shopping, you may have seen my haul picture on Instagram and you know when you’ve bought something you love, when you want to wear it the very next day. That’s exactly how I felt about my new denim oversized shirt dress, so here it is.

This dress is something of a new look for me, a very casual, relaxed piece but I love the style of it & the material is just so soft. It does feel a little like I’m wearing a night shirt but I kinda like that, it’s just so comfy.

Look magazine recently did a feature on ‘casualising’ inspired by Solange Knowles, who coined the phrase. This style is all about making your look a little less polished and a little understated. I’m not  really one to follow the latest trend, usually I just go with what I like and I do like comfort so I can definitely see the appeal of this trend.  It’s just sooo easy & it’s fun to dress the look up a little with accessories.

I teamed the dress with my new Reiss Vivienne Boots & my all time favourite MuuBaa leather jacket, perfect for a Sunday afternoon stroll around Covent Garden in London.

Jacket – MuuBaa old (similar can be found here)

Dress – Primark £12 current

Boots – Reiss sold out

Fringed Bag – H&M £19.99

Sunglasses – Jackie O’ Ray Bans £89 Amazon

Earrings – H&M old
