5 Lovely Little Things

1. Fresh flowers

I love having fresh flowers in the house. I thought these colours looked simply stunning together so I picked up a couple of bunches and had a bit of a play around and I was really pleased with the finish result.

2. Clinique Bonus Time

I’ve been on the hunt for the new Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in Ginger Pop which seems to be sold out everywhere and luckily tracked one down in the Boots near work. I also picked up the Sparkle Skin body exfoliating cream and therefore also got a fantastic tin full of Clinique treats which I was very pleased with as they’ll be perfect for my gym bag.

3. The Perfect Egg Cup

I found this in M&S the other day when grabbing dinner and I quite simply had to have it. Such  a perfect and cute egg cup and for only £4, I thought it was a bargain!! I’m definitely ready for Easter now!

4. Busaba Eathai

I love Thai food and I’m a big fan of Busaba Eathai as I can’t get enough of their Thai Calamari, there’s nothing quite like it!! I’ve been trying to eat more healthily lately and really enjoyed this dish which is chargrilled Salmon with Spinach and sticky Rice. I couldn’t finish all the rice, but it was all so delicious and accompanied by fresh Honey and Ginger Tea, all my favourite things!

5. Grow Your Own Herbs

I really enjoy gardening and there is nothing I love better than being able to harvest fresh herbs and vegetables from the garden to use when I’m cooking. As Spring is here I’ve been busy sowing seeds and I get so excited when seedlings appear! Here I’m growing Chives and Cumin on my kitchen windowsill. The Cumin is a first for me, a bit of an experiment, so we’ll see how it goes.

5 Lovely Little Things

Sorry this post is a little late this week, but I’ve been a bit under the weather these last few days. Anyway here are favourite five lovely things from last week:

Diptyque Rosa Mundi Candle

As you may have seen in my review post of this candle, I treated myself to this gorgeous Diptyque candle last week and I’m so glad I did. It has such a delicate beautiful scent, perfect for the bed side table & makes my room a lovely, calming space.

Teapigs Chai Tea

I received a sample of this tea in the goodie bag I won at the #EsseXmasMeet. I tried it for the first time last week and I absolutely loved it! I’ve been looking for a good Chai tea for a good while  now & this is just simply delicious! The tea is amazing with a mix of spices & flavours such as cardamom, cinnamon & vanilla without any artificial sweetener. I mix it a little with a normal tea bag to get a good strong tea & to create the perfect comforting cup of tea.

Shoreditch Sisters W.I

I went to the first Shoreditch Sisters meeting of the year & signed up to become a member for the year, which I’m so excited about! For those who’ve not heard of the Shoreditch Sisters, they are a branch of the WI, who hold meetings once a month in Bethnel Green as well running other fun events through the month such as Book Club, Knit &Natter & Radiant Riders as well as campaign meetings. The Shoreditch Sisters group is such a friendly & fun place for women to meet, listen & be involved in thought provoking discussions & learn new skills.

In last week’s session an amazing group of women from Anybody.org came in to talk about positive body images. It was such an interesting session & as we discussed matters within our smaller groups it was a great chance to meet other new members & guests.

Photoshoot for my first Lookbook post

For a little while I’ve been wanting to try new things with my blog and inject a bit more fashion and fun into it. Recently I’ve been really loving the whole monochrome chrome look & thought it might be fun to share some of my current looks with you with a Monochrome Lookbook, so on Sunday I had a little photoshoot along London’s Southbank & this picture is one of my favourite looks. I’m just working on completing the Lookbook, which will be up soon.

Free burger at GBK

After freezing for a good part of the day by the Southbank doing the photoshoot, my photographer for the day Gerrod Charles & I were in real need of a refuel so we headed to GBK in Waterloo. I was super pleased to get a free burger with my GBK app, but I definitely ordered too much food, lucky Gerrod was on hand to help me out!

5 Lovely Little Things

I’ve thought
about doing a ‘lovely little things’ post for a while now, to just highlight
some of the things which have inspired me during the week so I thought I’d give
it a go this week & try something new instead of ‘My week in pictures’. Let
me know what you think.

Jack Ryan

I was lucky
enough this week to get the chance to see a preview screening of Jack Ryan:
Shadow Recruit & I loved it! Just the kinda movie I needed & I’m not
usually a fan of action films. I’m also enjoying Kevin Costner’s comeback.

ESPA Yoga
& Detox Evening

I attended an
amazing ESPA evening at Liberty (see my review here). It was such a fun &
relaxing evening of yoga breathing techniques and learning body brushing
techniques with a deliciously healthy buffet of fruit, Green Tea & Pomegranate juice.
Plus I came home with a very lovely goodie bag!

Charlie &
Chocolate Factory Afternoon Tea

This was definitely one of
the highlights of the week for me as I got to have the afternoon off work &
head off with a friend to enjoy the most delicious afternoon tea. Yum!

Paddington

I couldn’t
resist taking a picture of one of my favourite little bears at Paddington
Station, especially as I was just so excited to be at the station to catch the
train & heard to my best friend’s new place for the weekend. I hadn’t seen
her since November so it was really lovely to spend the weekend catching up
with her.

Bobbi Brown
Powder Brush & Apricot Blusher

My best
friend & I finally got to exchange Christmas presents which I was so
excited about as I’d put a Christmas Stocking together for her & I’d been
dying to give her the gift. I in return got some amazingly gorgeous gifts, 2 of
which were the Bobbi Brown powder brush & blusher in Apricot. I love the
powder brush as it’s a tapered dome brush & I’d wanted one like it for
ages. The Apricot blusher is beautiful. I used a light amount with the powder
brush & it gave a gorgeous natural glow, I absolutely love it! I feel very
lucky indeed to have received such beautiful gifts.
