HOME UPDATES WITH THE SAINSBURY HOME SS18 COLLECTION

After the Beast from the East and Storm Emma I was desperately looking forward to Spring. We had some good days, heck there were some days I was even able to ditch the thermal black tights in favour of tan ones, joy, but here we are in the   Easter bank holiday and of course in the UK that means, rain, rain and rain!! I’m even more desperate for Spring to arrive. I just want to see and feel the sun and ditch all these pesky layers in favour of fun dresses. Spring of course is synonymous with fresh starts, time to shake off Winter and embrace all the colour emerging in the garden. I’ve started a massive Spring clean and declutter and boy does it feel good, I feel lighter physically and mentally. Paring back the clutter has given me a chance to see where I can add updates and how I can bring that fresh and bright Spring feeling into the home.

Homeware has become one of my favourite things to shop for as I’ve become more and more invested in making my living space feel like a home. As we enter Spring I’m looking at things with a fresh view and want to give everything an update or try a new style and if I can do that without breaking the bank then even better! I’ve long been a fan of Sainsbury Home, it’s been one of my favourite places to buy home accessories, lovely pieces for the kitchen and bedding for a few years now, so I was really excited to get an early glimpse of their Spring/Summer 18 collection and I’m even more excited now as all the things I fell in love with have been hitting the stores.

If I had to choose just one item as my must have from the collection it would be this stunning marble top table with the contrasting metal accents from the Palm House range. Perfect for the lounge as a side table as here or as a bed side table. I picture it with a gorgeous vase full of peonies (oh yes I’’m already dreaming of Peony season). I was so surprised to see just how affordable this beautiful table is at £45, I thought this would be far more expensive!I really fell in love with the Palm House range, it encapsulates all my favourite design elements and I would love to decorate my home with this range. The subtle tones of pinks and greens work beautifully together and I could just imagine us all coming together for mealtimes with this mint green dinning bench and table set teamed with the copper seating and cutlery. Definite interiors goals here!

The tableware is so so pretty. I love the vibrant watercolour florals which have been digitally printed across textiles and home accessories as well as the tableware collection to produce a statement dinner party setting.

I’m going to say boo to the rain and dream about Summer and outdoor eating and you can’t really blame me when you see the gorgeous Global Traveller range. I just want the Summer to arrive so I can recreate this look on the patio and while away chilled out summer afternoons….bliss!

I’ve been wanting to combine more colour into the white and clean Scandinavian influenced style I currently have so Sainsbury’s Helsinki range really stood out for me. Helsinki is a modern collection combining cool concrete grey tones with pops of yellow and navy. I love the yellow and I’m keeping a close eye on Sainsbury’s online for that yellow plant stand; such a simple piece which will give an instant update and is exactly what I’ve been searching for!

The Helsinki kitchenware is lovely. I want to buy it all! The graphic patterns on the tableware and ceramics bring together the modern and retro. The yellow colour palette is so cheery and just makes me think of Spring.

Sainsbury’s kitchen and cookware is always on point. It’s how their Home range won my heart a few years ago. I discovered their cast iron cookware and it is amazing and super affordable especially when your budget doesn’t feasibly stretch to Le Creuset. A friend of mine has cookware from both Sainsbury’s and Le Creuset and said she honestly can’t hardly tell the difference in cooking quality! I definitely can’t fault the cookware, I love my cast iron pots from Sainsbury’s and they’ve really encouraged me to do more homecooking. The Havana range is a real melting pot of contrasting bold colours and decorative patterns to reflect modern living. The Havana home accessories collection incorporates a variety of materials and textures from pressed glass to soft linens. There are plenty of embellished finishes across the textiles and ceramics. I’ve been lusting after this plant stand since the moment I saw this. I love the embellished detail on the plant stand, another beautifully designed piece. I need this in my home. Yes there’s a bit of a theme isn’t there in the things I’m loving…..yellow plant stands are at the top of the wishlist it seems. I read the other day that millennial pink is over and it’s time to make way for Gen Z yellow when it comes to fashion and it seems I’m ready to embrace this trend in the home too.

Sainsbury’s Home always have a great range of seasonal designs. I picked up some lovely mugs and cookie cutters at Christmas which made great little gifts. I’m still loving and using mine as the designs and quality are so great. The SS18 range contains lots of beautiful designs for all seasonal events and great wedding pieces too.

Being able to pick up amazing homeware pieces with my weekly shop is definitely the way forward!!
