THE GIFT GUIDE: BEAUTY

I don’t really start to feel fully in the Christmas spirit until December rolls in and this year I think I’m feeling more Christmassy than ever! I’ve rounded up a few festive picks to share with you and I’m kicking off today with my Beauty gift guide.

One of my fav stops for beauty is QVC Beauty, not everyone’s first thought when I’ve mentioned it to friends before, but there are so many great finds, at great prices and you don’t have to battle the crowds on the High Street (win-win). I picked up this Margaret Dabbs Christmas Nutcracker set there and the Margaret Dabbs Foot Cream is an incredibly pampering threat for the feet! Any gift from Elemis under the tree will always be well received and they have some great gift sets to chose from. The Elemis Bath Soak for aching muscles is a great gift for him and her and would be one of my top gift picks.

For those make-up lovers in your life, a gift from Tarte will definitely spread some cheer, especially as the US Brand isn’t so easy to get hold of here. I’m lusting after the gorgeous limited edition brush set (hint hint). The Charlotte Tilbury Instant Eye Palette is another crowd pleaser and if you’re after a little beauty sumthing sumthing for stockings then a eye shadow from Bobbi Brown is perfect. My top pick would be Allspice for some Christmas sparkle. If your beauty gift budget is about £25-£30, then one luxurious gift as opposed to many little things may be the way to go. From my experience a single lipstick or nail polish from Chanel, Dior or YSL always goes down a treat. A little bit of luxury can’t help but make you feel instantly glam. Fabled is a curated collection of beauty by Marie Claire and is a great one stop shop for the likes of Chanel, YSL, Nars, Oskia, OPI.
My absolute top beauty gift pick would have to be the By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Lumi-Serum in Sunny Flash. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this serum and after being given a little sample pot of the serum in Space N.K I can see why. Oooh I’m lusting after this big time can you tell? It’s one of the pricer skincare picks though, so I’ve placed it at the top spot of my letter to Santa. I promise I’ve been good this year! If you’re feeling generous Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream makes a beautiful and pampering gift.
The Laura Mercier Bath Crème Brûlée duet is divine! A really decadent gift which will be a big hit. For that person in your lift that really need a good night’s sleep, the This Works Sleep range is amazing! There is something to suit most budgets here, the Big Bang cracker makes a lovely gift and the Sleep Plus Pillow Spray has done wonders for me.
For those skin care lovers try the Rodial Hero Collection (on special offer with Rodial right now). You also can’t go wrong with anything from Oskia London. My top pick would have to be the Renaissance Cleansing Gel. Now also available in a 40ml travel size, perfect little stocking filler. If you want to get maximum oooooh factor for your money then you can’t go wrong with the latest Lulu Guinness x Look Fanatastic collaboration. It features full size products such as the Mac Semi Sweet palette of 9 eyeshadows and the Aveda Hair Thickening Tonic (this stuff really works) not to mention a Lulu Guinness make up bag all for £65, you really do get maximum bang for your buck with this, but be sure to grab it before it sells out.
Christmas doesn’t have to be all about the big brands. There are so many amazing independent makers and brands out there who have some amazing gifts. Hopscotch London is one of my favourites gift stops. Their bath salts are look beautiful and wonderfully relieves those aches and pains. The bath salt gift set are a perfect little stocking filler. The Nourish bath salts are my fav! For anyone who can’t get enough of Millennial Pink & Grey at the moment (guilty!) may I point you in the direction of Hopscotch’s Pop of Colour Candles, Bright Rose sounds dreamy! Ohros is another great independent specialising in Vegan friendly soy candles. Ok I know I’m digressing from Beauty here, but really just had to give them a mention…..oh I love candles.
Beauty gifts don’t have to break the bank. There are so many affordable offerings such as Make Revolution’s Fortune Favours The Brave eyeshadow palette designed by Jane from British Beauty Blogger. You get 30 eye shadow shades in this palette for £10. One of my favourite eye shadow palettes of the year as it’s so versatile. The Nip + Fab beauty and skin care range have so many incredible products, many between the £10-£20 price point and it’s created by the team behind Rodial. The Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads are a huge hit and make-up wise the Blush palette at £8.95 is amazing as are the contouring palettes. Lush of course is a great place for Christmas treats. I couldn’t resist this one-eyed Snowman Bubbleroon!

I hope that’s given you some helpful pointers and helped you tackle some of your Christmas shopping from the comfort of your sofa.
